The Stamford Photography Club’s September Competition saw two images receiving a perfect score of 27 from our three judges for this event. The two images are highlighted below, along with a short “behind the image” remark by the photographer:

Egret Joust by David Henkel

I was at the Milford Audubon Coastal Center in June photographing Skimmers when I heard a commotion behind me. I swung around and I saw two Egrets engage in a hunting ground dispute. These two were hop fighting, trying to gain the higher ground on the other while squawking and fluttering against each other. Eventually the winner gained the higher ground and put a decisive end to the scuffle, and the defeated Egret moved on to another watering hole. ~David

The Family at Rest by Carlotta Grenier

Last week I went to the Bronx Zoo with Victoria and spent a long time with all those Baboons. They were a real rowdy group of youngsters with the Mom and baby. Mom was always busy holding on to the tail of the little one and making sure that both of them did not get run over with all the commotion. After about a half an hour Mom decided to relax on top of the rocks where I photographed all of them together for a 5 minutes rest. It was such a treat to be able to watch them in their environment. ~Carlotta

Congratulations David and Carlotta! Your images have been added to the Perfect Score Gallery.
