Two Images Score a Perfect 27 in Our October Club Competition
The Stamford Photography Club’s October Competition saw two images receiving a perfect score of 27 from our three judges for this event. The two images are highlighted below, along with a short “behind the image” remark by the photographer:

This shot was nearly SooC – I have a hummingbird feeder that is on my deck. One afternoon in August, the feeder was being swarmed by hornets… this particular hummingbird would have none of it… He went after all the wasps and chased most of them away. He defended his feeder for his mate and himself.
The shot was made on an OM System’s OM1 with a 150-400mm f/4.5 super-zoom with the 1.25 teleconverter switched on set to 350mm (700 35mm eq), and f/5.6. ~Steven

I took this photo in Bisaw Village, a remote Egyptian village in the middle of the Nile River. When our group entered the village, we were greeted by many friendly faces, young and old alike. As I entered one of the compounds, Fatima rushed out of her house and stood by the doorway apparently curious to see the visitors. The sun was setting and I really liked the way the light shone on her peaceful face. ~Rosemarie
