David Henkel Earns a Perfect Score for “Kingfisher Low Pass” in our January Photo Competition

Here is David’s remarks about the image:

I stopped at an Egret rookery in Stratford one day in November last year and as soon as I exited the car I heard the trilling of multiple kingfishers. As I approached the pond side, they were chasing each other back and forth across the pond over and over. This gave me ample opportunity to try some flight shots. A couple times the Kingfishers flew just above the water. This was one of those captures. The sun was behind the kingfisher which illuminated the backside of the left wing.
